In order to facilitate research in archives, scientific finding aids such as archive overviews, thematic guides and studies about historical sources and institutions, but especially inventories and analyses of sources, are prepared. These research instruments are available in the reading rooms of the State Archives. But you can also search and consult the collections of the State Archives easily from home!
Genealogical sources
This search engine is dedicated to genealogy. More than 28,000 parish registers (up to 1796) and more than 36,000 civil status registers (from 1796 to 1920) are available online.
Analyses of records
Previously known as Search persons. This new search engine allows you to search for a person, place or object in more than 13 million deeds and more than 42 million names indexed by volunteers and staff of the State Archives.
